How we measure
We open several parallel connections and saturate your line. The first seconds (TCP slow-start) are discarded and outliers are filtered statistically, so the result reflects your sustained speed, not a single momentary peak.
Why results vary
Wi-Fi signal, other downloads running at the same time, VPNs, browser extensions and time-of-day congestion all affect the result. For the most accurate reading, use a cable and pause downloads on other devices.
